Description

The Shak-Fazil Archaeological?Architectural Complex includes: Archa?Mazar holy mountain with Alamberdar Mausoleum of the 19 century and a holy hermit's cave, the place of executing 2 700 warriors of Islam, Mosque of the 18?19 century, Stone?Phallos coming vertically from the earth and Shakh?Fazil Complex itself consisting of the Shakh?Fazil Mausoleum of the 11 century, Safid?Bulend (or Bulon) Mausoleum. The two latter Mausoleums are dated back to the 19 century.

The most important in the Complex is the Shakh?Fazil Mausoleum, the exterior of which is quite different from other mausoleums of the Karakhanid epoch. There are no analogues to the architecture of the Shakh Fazil Mausoleum.

The interior is rendered with ganch ornamented with decorative panels and inscriptions with Koranic texts in Kufic style testifying to the fact that it is a tomb of Saif?i and davlat?i Malikan, i.e. Mukhammed ibn Naser from the dynasty of Karakhanids of the 10 ? 12 centuries.

The Complex is a Muslim sacred place, there is mass pilgrimage to the site every year.
