Description
Capitol Reef National Park, Utah. The 100-mile long Waterpocket Fold is one of the world's most graphic examples of a monoclinal folding of the earth's crust. A striking variety of features, including volcanic dikes and sills, arches and bridges, and monoliths and sinkholes, have been created or exposed by wide-scale erosion occurring over the past 270 million years.
