Description

This property comprises a large number (50-60) of Pleistocene river dunes (donken) on which well-preserved traces of human occupation can be found dating from the Mesolithic and Neolithic Periods as well as the Early Bronze Age. Most of these donken are partly covered by peat and are consequently well-preserved in the subsoil. Other donken are visible above the subsoil and as such are unique and valuable elements of the modern-day landscape.
