The Austrian authorities submitted in writing - as requested by the twenty-fourth session of the Bureau - their views which they presented orally during the Bureau with regard to a project to construct a huge sport-stadium near the Baroque Castle of Klessheim close to the World Heritage site Historic Centre of the City of Salzburg (Austria). In their views, the project neither forms part of the Castle of Klessheim, nor of the World Heritage site. Moreover, the distance between the planned stadium and the buffer zone of the site is over three kilometers and no direct line of sight exists. Furthermore, the height of the building has been reduced in the latest design version. These views also confirm the views of ICOMOS as expressed during the Bureau session.
