Since 2003, the World Heritage Centre has worked in partnership with Ecotourism Australia to create a network of attribution of its label "ECO certification", which encourages the Australian tourism sector to respect World Heritage Convention principles, especially on natural and mixed World Heritage sites.
Objectives:
- Develop innovative fundraising mechanisms to finance projects and activities to aid conservation and the protection of natural and mixed sites inscribed on the World Heritage List.
- Advise World Heritage site personnel on tourism management
