         <title>Argentina names World Heritage site to the Ramsar List</title>
         <description><![CDATA[
The government of Argentina has designated its 21st Wetland of International Importance, called the Humedales de Pen&amp;iacute;nsula Vald&amp;eacute;s (42,695 hectares), comprising two coastal sub-sites along the gulfs on either side of the Vald&amp;eacute;s peninsula in Patagonia, within the much larger Pen&amp;iacute;nsula Vald&amp;eacute;s World Heritage property that was inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1999.

         <title>Jaeger-LeCoultre and the International Herald Tribune continue to support the World Heritage Marine Programme</title>
         <description><![CDATA[The Tides of Time programme, initiated in 2008 through a partnership with Jaeger-LeCoultre and the International Herald Tribune, has entered its second year.
The year began with coverage of sites such as Sian Kaan in Mexico and the Everglades in the USA. Other sites including the Atoll of Aldabra (Seychelles), Sundarbans (Bangladesh/India), Shiretoko (Japan), and the Peninsula Valdez (Argentina) should be the focus of this year&apos;s campaign.

         <title>World Heritage Committee Inscribes 48 New Sites on Heritage List</title>
         <description><![CDATA[Marrakesh - UNESCO&apos;s World Heritage Committee, meeting since November 29 in Marrakesh (Morocco), has inscribed 48 new cultural and natural sites on the World Heritage List. The List now has 630 sites of &amp;quot;exceptional universal value&amp;quot; in 118 countries. Sites in South Africa, Nigeria, Saint Kitts and Nevis, and Turkmenistan are on the List for the first time.
