         <title>World Heritage sites participate in Earth Hour</title>
         <description><![CDATA[UNESCO will partner with World Wildlife Fund (WWF) for Earth Hour,&amp;nbsp;one of the world&apos;s largest and most well-known environmental campaigns in the world. UNESCO has invited World Heritage sites to participate in this initiative by switching off the lights on the night of Earth Hour: Saturday, 31 March 2012, from 8:30 to 9:30pm local time.&amp;nbsp;The lights will also be switched off at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France.

         <description><![CDATA[The World Heritage Centre expresses its deep concern after the fire&#xa0;on the&#xa0;Cutty Sark tea clipper, part of the Maritime Greenwich World Heritage site located in the United Kingdom.          <title>World Heritage Committee Inscribes 46 New Sites on World Heritage List</title>
         <description><![CDATA[The following sites have been inscribed on the World Heritage List by the World Heritage Committee at its 21st session, meeting in Naples, Italy, 1-6 December, 1997. A total of 46 sites were inscribed: 7 natural sites; 38 cultural sites; and 1 mixed site.
