International Seminar: Guarani Jesuit Missions

On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the World Heritage Convention, the Fundación Ortega Gasset with the support of UNESCO Montevideo and Dirección de Patrimonio de la Secretaria de la Nación (Argentina) are organizing an international seminar: The Convention for the Protection of World Cultural and Natural Heritage forty years after its adoption: The case of the Guaraní Jesuit Missions.

The Seminar aims for a collaborative assessment of the impact of the implementation of the World Heritage Convention in Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay, and to reflect upon related issues that are not yet resolved. It will also provide a platform to present documents to improve the knowledge circulation and the diffusion of good practice for the management of culture and heritage.

The three-day meeting will be open to the public, featuring experts guest speakers and discussions of related regional case studies. Attendees must complete the pre-registration form and send it by e-mail before August 15. Participation is free.
