40th anniversary - 20 activities in Spain

Since the beginning of the 2012 year, the Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport have been coordinating all the Spanish activities in the framework of the 40th Anniversary of the World Heritage Convention.

  1. Nationals and internationals meetings or forums:
    1. International Technical symposium about rock art, World Heritage. Organised by Comarca del Somontano (Aragón)
    2. IV Iberia Meeting of Managers of World Heritage Sites. Organised by Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport in cooperation with Portugal.
    3. VI National Meeting of Managers of Spanish World Heritages Sites. Organised by Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport in cooperation with Santiago de Compostela Council.
    4. 4th World Heritage Youth Forum program Patrimonio Joven. Organised by Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport.
    5. XII International Symposium: Conservation of World Heritage. Organised by Erdély Foundation European Institute for Research, Development and Innovation in Environmental Sciences (Madrid) in cooperation with Extremadura Government.
    6. Workshop about the Cultural and Natural Heritage management in the Monastery of Poblet
    7. Art Rock, Cultural Park and Development Meeting. Organised by the Cultural Park of Río Martín (Aragón, Spain).
    8. IX Archaeological Patrimony Heritage Conference of the Community of Madrid. Third Session: Archaeology and sustainable development in World Heritage Sites. Organised by Comunidad de Madrid.

    1. Junior School Students aware of Úbeda Patrimonial Heritage and its conservation. Organised by Úbeda Council.
    2. Sponsorship programme of the Poblet Monastery in schools. Organised by Poblet Monastery.
    3. Las Médulas on the 40th Anniversary of the World Heritage Convention. Heritage education as a resource for sustainable future. Organised by Las Médulas Foundation.
    4. “Alhambra and the kids”  educational program to raise the students awareness about the importance of preserving the rich heritage of the Alhambra to hand it on to future generations, focusing on the principles underpinning the World Heritage Convention. Organised by The Alhambra Patronato.
    5. Educational program “The Alhambra and the Unesco. Educate to protect”. Organised by The Alhambra Patronato.
    6. Didactic and educational days for the local community with guided tours to the Court of the Lions, newly restored and opened to the public.
    7. Educate, learn, live the Alcazar! Organised by Alcázar de Sevilla.
    8. Elche, two valuable heritages for the kids. Organided by Elche Council.

 5 Open days:

    1. Open day for the people from Granada on the 16th and 17th of November. Organised by The Alhambra Patronato.
    2. Open day in all cities of Ciudades Patrimonio Group: These cities are: Alcalá de Henares, Ávila, Cáceres, Córdoba, Cuenca, Ibiza, Mérida, Salamanca, San Cristóbal de La Laguna, Santiago de Compostela, Segovia, Tarragona y Toledo.
    3. The role of Alcázar in citizens life as agents of sustainable development. Organised by Alcázar de Sevilla.
