Periodic Report follow-up meting for the Canadian World Heritage Network

6-7 December 2006

The meeting - organized with and fully sponsored by Canadian national authorities - was attended by 90 site managers, representatives of Parks Canada and advisory bodies IUCN, ICOMOS, ICCROM as well as a US delegation of cultural and natural heritage experts. During the two day meeting the debate tackled several themes relevant to the daily management of world heritage properties such as: climate change (case study on the transboundary site of Glacier Waterton) and use of statements of outstanding universal value in planning, reporting and interpreting world heritage properties. Special presentations were devoted to lessons learnt from previous and current nominations processes.
