Sun Temple of Konarak (India)
XII.87 The Bureau examined the report on the state of conservation of this World Heritage property presented in document WHC-02/CONF.201/11Rev. It reiterated its previous requests to the State Party to report on the progress made in developing a comprehensive management plan and on the measures taken in favour of the conservation and development of Konarak. The Bureau encouraged the authorities responsible for the conservation and management of the property to submit an international assistance request to elaborate the Plan for the mitigation of potential threats caused by illegal encroachment and ad-hoc construction in the areas surrounding the site.
