The Committee deferred its decision on this nomination in order to give ICOMOS the opportunity to make a further evaluation of this property.

Archaeological Park of Selinunte

The Committee deferred the examination of this property until additional information on the plans for the archaeological park had been received.

Castel del Monte

Italy

The Committee noted that the Italian Government had not yet given assurances regarding the protection of the landscape which surrounds Castel del Monte and which is an integral part of the site.

Tongariro National Park

The Committee recognized the value of this site in meeting the natural criteria (ii) and (iii) but wished that this nomination be deferred until the New Zealand authorities have completed the new management plan which should give particular attention to placing limits on ski developments and to better reflecting the Maori cultural values as part of the management concept of the site.
