      <title>Director-General condemns destruction of vestiges in the Ancient City of Bosra, a Syrian World Heritage site</title>
      <description><![CDATA[The Director-General of UNESCO, Irina Bokova, has condemned the destruction of parts of the Ancient City of Bosra during combats in the World Heritage site on 22 December 2015, as confirmed by the Syrian Directorate of Antiquities and Museums.
There is fear of further deterioration to the site due to severe damage to the western courtyard adjacent to Bosra&apos;s 2nd century Roman theatre and to parts of the Ayyubid citadel, which surrounds it.

      <description><![CDATA[The Solomon Islands host a chain of coral atolls in the western Pacific, about 1800 kilometers northeast of Australia. The southernmost island in the group is Rennell Island. At 86 kilometers long and 15 kilometers wide, Rennell is the largest raised coral atoll in the world.       <title>Another Fire at the Royal Palaces of Abomey World Heritage site in Benin</title>
      <description><![CDATA[On 14 January 2015, a fire has once again ravaged the Palace of the King Hou&#xe9;gbadja in the Royal Palaces of Abomey World Heritage property in Benin.
Thankfully there were no victims. Despite the efforts of firefighters, all of the thatched roofs of the palace complex were burned.
